Will.png

It can take many people years to master the art of music, from theory, to playing and even broader, leading to composition.  Will is an outstandingly naturally talented musician.

From birth Will has been surrounded by people who either dabble in musical hobbies or are in the music scene as a profession.  From his talented Grandfather playing guitar and keyboard along with an amazing vocal talent; His mother who has a Higher Diploma in Music Performance and Bass, and has over 20 years experience as a Live Music performer; to his Step-Father who has over 20 years experience in the music industry as a Professional Vocalist and is Self-Emplyed with his business managing several bands and Live Music Events.  Coming from such a musical family it isn't any wonder that Will took to music the way he has.

Will first picked up his father's guitar at a very young age and began to strum and enjoy the sounds he was creating.

At the age of six, Will was gifted his first guitar from his grandfather, and from there, the passion ignited!

At the age of seven, Will got his first taste of playing his guitar on stage to a live audience at one of his parents' band events, performing the Tetris theme tune along with a couple of other songs. What an experience! Everyone who has been there knows that once you have performed on stage, you want more.

Will is predominantly a self-taught guitarist and has a natural ear for music. The talent and ability to learn new songs in minutes just by listening to them is a skill professionals would strive to have.

In secondary school, Will was a keen member of the music department and gained the well-earned respect of the faculty, which led to his involvement in organising and structuring school performances.

In 2019, through his school, Will and a few of his music classmates had the opportunity to each compose a small piece of music for members of the James Berkley Orchestral Ensemble to perform.

Will's composed piece was so impressive that he was asked to expand on it and complete a full piece for the entire James Berkley Orchestral Ensemble to perform at one of their upcoming performances.

By the age of 14, Will had completed and gained his Grade 6 in Music Theory and Classical Guitar. From there, he has continually progressed in his learning, expansion and appreciation for all genres and styles of music.

Will still enjoys composing music in his spare time and has proven that his musical ability shows no end, he can play the bass guitar, along with a little knowledge of the keyboard and drums.

Musical talent runs through his veins and engulfs every fiber of his being.

Will's influences are:

Meshuggah - crushing driving technical riffs, complex irregular rhythms that would make virtuosic musicians have a mental breakdown. Fun and challenging to learn, requires thinking outside the box.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Less technical - more feel. Frusciante is the king of “less is more”. Use of funk/blues motifs make for a very catchy song.

Dream Theater - Petrucci is my main guitar idol. Inhuman ability. 23 minute songs that weave tales all while navigating through elaborate time signatures and soaring guitar solos.

Will's hobbies consist of:

Music, Volunteer with cadet services as Detachment Commander for the Lincolnshire Army Cadets,

Hiking and Orienteiring

Interesting Fact about Will:

Will has a large collection of Lego Models ranging from scenes from Star Wars, vehicles and even decorative Lego plants!
